Last Day of Muse CLASS

As our last day of Muse Class come to the end, it kinda trips me out because of how much more I wanna learn about becoming Internet Famous. It feels like i've just learned the basics and have knowledge of most of the lessons we covered during this semester. This scholarly paper has worked me up a bit as I just started on it about a week ago because of the insufficient information I was given. This class was great while it lasted, especially making the youtube video. I hope to use what I learned from this class in the future as I try to make myself

Two Fall Campus Events

During my fall semester as a first year in San Jose State, I participated in a ton of campus events, especially with the filipino club known as, Akbayan. Akbayan has hosted a ton of events and one of my favorite ones was Maboohay, which was a cultural show that showcased talented filipino american artist dancing, singing, and some improv as well. The highlight of the night was the set performed by Gabe Bondoc, Leejay Abucayan, and Passion. Their set consisted of a medley of songs you would want to hear them cover and a couple of their originals. Maboohay was overall a FANTASTIC EVENT! I shall come back next year.

Another event I have attend in the fall semester was an event held in the Dining Commons which showcased tons of food from around the world. And the best part, IT WAS FREE. I've had many taste from around the world whether it was from VIETNAM (HELLA SPICY SANDWICH), or France which gave out the most delicious crepes I have ever devoured. Along with the food they also had raffles and dance performances by the man cultural clubs in San Jose State. I would also want to attend this event again!

Two MUSE workshops

Throughout my first fall semester of attending San Jose State, I have attended two MUSE workshops. These two workshops were about how to build a Resume and Time Manage. I have learned many things about these certain topics, which will definitely help me out with my college education.

The Resume workshop was one of the first MUSE workshops I attended. It was held in the Career Center in a little room where they usually host most career helping workshops. The Lecturer, whose name I could not remember gave us a template of a resume to see what we can build on and helpful tips we can use in each section.

The second workshop I attended was about Time Management. To my surprise, I came late for this workshop, which shows how much I can manage my time -___-. The representative from the counseling services gave us a hand out and gave us a few tips on how to manage our time. One big tip they gave us was to have an agenda or some type of calendar to keep us on track. Another helpful tip was to always plan out the day from when it starts to when it ends.

Skills (Response to Chapter 12)

When growing up, I never really stuck into a specific skill as I always found myself following certain trends like pokemon cards, skateboarding, myspace, etc. Recently during my 7th and 8th grade year, I started to become involved in school activities such as the Associated Student Body, the Filipino Youth Coalition, and the Filipino Club. Being part of these programs raised my communication skills as well as expanded my network as I got to meet a lot of people during these programs. I not only progressed in communications, but I found journalism to pretty interesting as well as I decided to start blogging as well as taking pictures with a DSLR camera. As I entered college, I chose to become a communications major as I enjoy communicating with other people. In the future, I hope to graduate with a bachelors degree and probably become or teacher or work for a major company as a spokesperson. These future ideas may easily change as i'm constantly exposed to new things that are really interesting.

Money Money Money (In response to chapter 12)

Money plays a big part in anyone's life, especially in college. I find myself spending the money I have left of my summer job on my own personal needs when it's possible to use save this money for more valuable items. My parents constantly get mad at me as I do this obnoxious spending as I spend most of my money on food when that money could be saved and I could just eat at home keeping that money that would've left my hands. I'm currently looking for a job in order to have money that I can personally use. But as I receive this money I'm looking to set my limits in order to save money and make it useful.

Decisions Decisions

College I must say is one of the greatest experiences I have ever had in my life, like a fresh start in life again. You're your own person when coming on to this establishment and the decisions you make may have its good and bad effects. The definition of right and wrong is solely up to you as there is no one true answer to a right or wrong. What may build up this definition and might probably confuse of defining a right or wrongness is one my favorite things I like to talk about, society. As you come to an agreement to a certain decisions one person/persons may like what you decided, but another person/persons may believe what your doing is not good at all. For example, there's a party you wanna hit up and all your friends want to go, but if you do go your parents won't be too happy. If you decide to go, it'll then make your friends happy, but if you don't go, it'll make you family happy. People might say that choose the scenario that will make you happy. But in most cases, all types of scenarios will benefit you and could probably make you happy. If you did go to that party, your parents may be disappointed in you, but you would be having a fun time with your friends, but if you didn't go to that party, your parents would be happy with you and appreciate that your still there for them.

It's difficult to make decisions, but whichever one you decide, it'll benefit you someway somehow.

Making The Video

Making our MUSE short film, Kenny's Party Experience, was actually a very fun experience. The set we made in Jae's suite from the disco lights, extremely loud speakers, and a dark club/party like environment. I'd like to thank Jae's roommates for helping out with the film by becoming extra party goers even though it was a man-infested party. We did make two versions of our film. One for the MUSE class to see and one uncut version, which may not be suitable for the MUSE class (IT WILL BE KEPT PRIVATE). This was a great experience and makes me very interested in film making.

Physical and Mental Health

Your physical and mental health can easily change or remain the same once you enter college. College exposes you too many things like party, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, sex and things society finds deviant. When you get into this deviance, it would be pretty fun, but at the same time your physical and mental health is constantly declining. You can either try to balance this situation or just not go through stuff at all.

Test Taking (In response to know yourself and your journal chapter 8)

Testing is what we fear most about our classes. Whether it's a midterm or a final or maybe just a quick quiz. The difficulty of a test may depend on the teacher and what type of test is given, but it mostly depends on yourself. Your the one who knows what to do before during and in a test. Some people may over react and worry before taking test, which may cause them to lose all thought and study when it's test time.

So what must you do in order to stop this insanity? Study! We must end procrastination and put all distractions that society gives us aside. Helpful Tips may be working in a quiet environment with no friends around, maybe helpful ones if needed. One of my friends told me that she actually unplugs her modem in order to focus when doing her work as it prevents herself from procrastinating more and more. Once you use one of these or many othe strategies, you'll feel good that you studied and more confidence is built inside your body once you take that test.

Oh and one more thing Please try and not to cheat. A class should be based on your knowledge, not a stupid letter a teacher gives you once your done with your class.

Campus Movie Festival

Last friday, I went to the Campus Movie Festival here on campus in the Morris Dailey Auditorium. My brother, cousin, and I ar rived a tad bit late as we entered the top floor of the theater. The next movie played as I entered the auditorium was Next Time, which was a five minute film that was about a bookworm student constantly reject his dorm mate's invites to movie nights with the answer, "Maybe Next Time". This situation is constantly played throughout the movie as the dorm mate is always seen in different costumes pertaining to what movie he's watching. The ending came to be that, as the bookworm manages to break out of his shell and anticipate the next movie night, the dorm mate pops in to the room for a study time rather than party or anything like that. Next Time was one of my favorite short films as well as FunScare which you have to see for your self. Check Out all the movies played during Campus Movie Fest at SJSU and other college campuses at :

Sleep and Study (Reponse to Chapter 7 Know Yourself and Your Journal

School time and sleep don't mix at all. I always get caught sleeping less than 4 or 5 hours a day after homework. Just a really ugly habit. It's really easy to get distracted and not do your work, which basically happens to me. Ways to improve this is working at school. On Monday I actually got all of my homework done so when I got home I just relaxed and did whatever I wanted to do. I really prefer the college/school environment as it just creates that drive and focus for me to work rather than do other things. Although internet connections tend to get really ugly in certain places, this may be an advantage if you necessarily don't need the internet, so that it prevents you from being distracted.

Studying is very vital and important. The whole point of studying something is to have an idea or remember a certain thing for a test, quiz, mid-term, etc. With studying it's all about FOCUS. You must focus on your studying in order to gain this knowledge and put it into your brain. Use rhymes, songs, or certain events that can help you remember what you need to know about. However don't try to learn everything at once, cramming all this information in your brain may give you a headache. It's best study in parts and spread your time out for more broader knowledge.

Anna the Peer Mentor

Anna has been a great peer mentor throughout this MUSE course. When we seem to be confused about certain assignments the professor puts up on blackboard, she'd usually get on our level, since she's a student as well, and would guide us on how to do the assignment, I mean that's what she's there for. Plus the help isn't only available during class every Monday and Wednesday, but she's also available at the Peer Mentor Center Tuesday nights from 7-9 in the CVB and after class on Wednesdays in Clark Hall. If you can't contact her either way, you can simply email her and she will get back to you ASAP. Anna defines the true meaning of a peer mentor, always there to help!

In my mind (In response to "know yourself" and "your journal"

The way I think pretty much depends on if I am actually interested of thinking about what I am introduced to do. So I find most of my assignments unappealing so I easily neglect them by doing them late at night. But if there's some activity going that gets me excited, my mind just waits for that activity to happen impatiently. This way of thinking may sound crazy and difficult to be in, but I can still function myself, just not in the ways I want to function. I always think about ways I can better my thinking (does that make sense). But when I wanna try these new ways of thinking I catch myself doing those same habits that I just want to get rid of. It may seem like my mind is taking over me, but it's not my mind, it's myself. It's just what too much thinking may do to you.

Diverse Universe (In response to "know yourself" and "your journal" for Chapter 4)

I found myself a Interpersonal person as I like to converse with people, whether I know them really well or if I just met them for the first time. An interpersonal person is pretty much someone who's down with the people and just loves to interact with them. I don't find myself fully interpersonal (we can be fully anything anyways) because I still play the shy guy roll when put into crowds of people I do not know. It's like I need that certain bridge or group of people to keep me comfortable. I should rid this habit however because I should be comfortable everywhere I am. This is pretty much why I find myself majoring in Communications.

When learning new things, I'd use my visual, hearing, and touch senses in order to get a better grasp of what knowledge I will be undertaking. I believe I equally use these senses because visual images can always be put into my head, hearing helps as you can easily remember songs or certain sayings, and touching something is like having a hands on experience.

The AnselMode.

So as all you can see, my blog is also part in use for my MUSE class (How to become Internet Famous). I really like the class, but just the fact that I'm forced to blog about readings, reflections, and all of that, it's just not my style. I just like to blog about whatever is on my mind, or certain topics that keep readers interested and THINK. I don't want the people to know what I read about or how my tour of the library was. That's kinda like a journal or a diary. Well I wouldn't consider my blog a type of journal or a diary...

Because my blog is all about that AnselMode

Strong/Weak Writing/Speaking and Plagarism (Response to Know Yourself and Your Journal for Chapter 9

In my opinion, I believe that im a very weak writer when it comes to writing essays and assignments that are need to be done. It's hard to find an interest when doing these certain assignments, but then again I do have a lot of strength in finding evidence as the many things in life I may have experienced or heard would usually pertain to most topics I write about. I also lack in grammar. I usually forget to put in the most important words in my sentence as it stays in my head and doesn't land on the actual paper. My tense is also horrible as well because I usually get confused when I use the right words at the wrong time. I think this is why I am stuck in LLD02, which I really need to pass or else I won't be in school anymore! I just hope for progress.

My speech skills however, are greatly increasing due to the past experiences I have had over time. At first I tend to be nervous when I am the center of attention of a speech, but then I observe my audience, which leads me to be comfortable when I talk and make my speech. My first speech for Public Speaking is later today so hopefully I can find what real strengths and weaknesses I have with speeches.

Plagiarism has never crossed my mind at all. What kind of idiot would plagiarize someone else's work? People who plagiarize are weak as they don't tackle what assignment is given to them and they wouldn't get anything out of it but a grade. It's all about knowledge. Doing this work gives us knowledge in order to help us in the future. If we live a world of plagiarism, we wouldn't even know how function right because we haven't received that knowledge we should of had before. If you get caught up, you may be kicked off campus, EVEN ARRESTED!

So why plagiarize? It's bad for the eyes...

The Mime In the Mirror

So in today's MUSE class session, we came upon the mime activity. The first part of the activity was to have one person as the mime who made the moves in return to the man in the mirror. My partner for activity was Ryan. At first it was kind of awkward on why we were doing this activity, but then it started to become comfortable when I was the mime and did some random yet funny moves in a way to entertain him and just create a good comfort zone. The second part of the activity was to guest or react to what the mime was doing, removing the mirror part of the activity, pretty much like charades. Ryan was confused on what to do, but I guessed that he first was dancing party, then got tired and decided to eat cereal or soup or something that you can eat with a spoon. Then for my part, I decided to imitate a photoshoot by acting out as a model and as a photographer at the same time. Overall the activity at first was awkward, then later became funny and a pretty good icebreaker.

Communication and Time keep it on your mind (Reponse to MUSE Chapter 2&3 Reading)

Communication one of God's greatest creations. Communication is what is key in order to become successful in life. It just depends how you do it and how other react to it. And communication is not only through the words in your mouth, but also your body language and the several characteristics you expose to another. A reaction may cause attraction but a lie will make them cry. Communicating in the most positive ways may lead to successful relationships and will expand your social network. One huge no no with communication is DON'T PERSONALLY JUDGE ANYONE it may create that bad vibe you don't really want. I've just realized it's easy to judge someone rather than tell the truth. The truth is good but hurts as well if you were previously doing wrong. Just remember to Communicate wisely

Time make good use of it, THERE'S ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF IT. We can't keep wasting time by procrastination, and doing things that are not benefitting our lives. And what steps can helps create good use of it? Scheduling your day, creating quick and helpful decisions, rid of that procrastination, all valuable of ways managing your time. This is something I really need working on as comparing the time I waste to an actual waste dump is that the dump had to expand to a huge massive area with useless junk!

Communication and Time KEEP IT ON YOUR MIND

The Late Night Rush

This Late Night Rush has been going on since High School, in which I stay up late at night to do finish my assignments. This trend is just horrible as it upsets my body from less sleep and creating more tiredness when trying to get everything done. And how does this Late Night Rush happen? Here's a short list of reasons of why this occurs,

  • Neglect of homework
  • Finding fun things to do.
  • Becoming mangled by the media
  • Outgoing
  • Extra-curricular activities
and the list goes on. I just want to get rid of this habit? What are some possibilities?

The MLK Library (Response to MUSE)

This place may be one of the most useful resources in the campus. As I entered the Library, the place is just looked amazing. Just being in there makes you want to do you homework and not become distracted by outside antics that may be going on.

When entering the room before the presentation. The whole room was geared up with two widescreens and a projector in the center along with comfortable seats and huge tables to leave a gorgeous amount of workspace to yourself.

Although I did phase out a couple of times during the presentation, I sure did get plenty of helpful information about the library and what many resources it may bring to me. Rooms can be rented for your own privacy or work groups. And when writing papers, the library provides many resources/reference you can put into a essay, Scholarly Paper, and other forms of assignments that require evidence.

One thing I definitely love about the library is the tons of workspace provided. From the whispering voices of the 8th floor to the COMPLETELY SILENT 7th floor. Those are certain places I can probably get my assignments done in.

When assignments come into my hands I can keep kicking back at The Music Room (which I still love), I gotta go where motivation takes the lead,

Kanye Swift

The media just moved me in this one, but most people have seen the Kanye West & Taylor Swift incident in the VMA's where Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance for best female video "You belong with me", which won over Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" which both were #1 on Billboard's Hot #100

Kanye was being real though, Beyonce did have one of the best videos of all time. But this is another example of, "When keeping it real goes wrong"........ Then again Kanye was right the "Single Ladies" VIDEO was a way better than "You belong with me". Isn't it the VIDEO music awards? Kanye did have a point, but interrupting Taylor Swift was a dick move.

Old Habits

Last Night I ended sleep around 330am finishing up corrections for an a essay I wrote up in my LLD class.. Seems like my old habits from High School are creeping back into my train of thought.

So what caused me to finish my assignment so late...

1.) Im home and home is not the place to work
2.) Often got carried away doing things that I would rather do besides correcting the essay
3.) Went to dinner and bowling earlier and got home around 11

As soon as I receive that Insurance of mine, I shall find my own study grounds that I will use to my advantage. Hopefully the trip to the Library will help me discover new places.

Hit them Hard

Now a days, we always meet people and when we meet these new people, we tend to leave the old ones behind. I in fact, have been done this. I deeply despise this trend as it may create tension as the ones you leave behind aren't as close as you both were before. If that happens, try to reconnect, let them know your still there with them. Don't just forget about them and just move on with your new friends, that'll just keep continuing that tension with your old ones.

But perhaps your old friend your trying to reconnect with takes the wrong turn, doing things you never expect them to do for oblivious reasons and they supposedly say your still very good friends even though you hear others telling you things your old friend is suppose to say to you but apparently you weren't told about this. Basically i'm saying how can you call someone your very good friend, when you they don't play that role by hiding things from you. I mean they maybe be shady, but they should realize your still their for them.

When they realize how their new way of acting is riduculous, it should Hit them hard.

But just remember whether it's your old or new friend Keep them close.

Home does not Work

To me, Homedoesn'tWork

I find myself getting behind my assignments once I leave campus and come home. I do love being home, but home is just not a working environment for me. As I keep telling myself to do my assignments, I end up doing something else like becoming mind controlled my the internet or the TV.

Don't let the Media Mend you.

Just the feeling of being on campus creates a better work environment for myself. Just the vibe on campus just makes you wanna do your work compare to the house where you relax and just lay back.

Home is the place to be comfortable not working.

5 Important Values (Reponse to MUSE "know yourself" assessment.)

1.) FAMILY

Since Day one

2.) Having Good Friendships and getting along well with people.

Creates the good vibe in me when there are just people to get along with.

3.) Feeling Secure

Many negative opinions that are direct towards me may make me think, but in the end those words can't hurt me in anyway.

4.) Having personal responsibility

Your reaction is your outcome. Outcomes may either be positive or negative, but it's your job to determine what type of outcome it is.

5.) Being Happy

What's better than being happy about yourself?

The Music Room

The total upgrade to the table in the quad, the place to chill during those long gaps. From the lounge chairs spread across the area to the relaxing beats played from the two large speakers at the end of the room. The Music Room is the place to be. One of my favorite things about this room is the three booths that lay right next to the entrance, in which you can have your own working space, or a nice place to talk to your friends and listen to your own music from your ipod or laptop.

Whenever I have that 1015-130 gap on Tuesdays and Thursdays you know where to find me....

The College Life (Corresponds to MUSE "your journal" assessment.)

I woke up and I heard a voice in my head telling me, Today is the day your life begins. This new experience I was feeling was quite uncomfortable at first, but after realizing that you can start over again, just put me in that good mood. Two classes a day, being in the heart of San Jose, the woma\en, starting new friendships, relaxing in the music room, the women, freshmen aren't bullied at all but encouraged to join organizations that can uplift your social status, and of course the women, what more can you ask for when going to college? Just being there gives me a good vibe. A vibe that encourages me to do things I was too lazy to do, like jogging for a good hour around the neighborhood. This new becoming that I have now been accustomed to this new life style, I must admit this College Life is great...............

A New Beginning

At last, the summer before college is coming to an end and a new chapter of my life will begin. The friendships and experiences I have been a part of will remain as memories, as I partake this new journey in to the world of college. Although I will still live locally, this doesn't mean that i'll have the same usual availability that I usually have. College is like the gateway to where you want your life to be. Although a handful of my good friends are still in high school, friendships will seem to become different due to the fact that I am in college and I just can't remain in that High School Environment. This is not a farewell to the friendships I have made to these people, but a farewell to how much i'll physically be there for you and i'm sorry for that but that's just how I want to put things for now.
With this new pathway I will be purusing, I will also try to create new friendships without completely breaking the old ones. Other than friendships I hope to create a better and healthy lifestyle once I enter College (Fuck a Freshman 15).

Farewell to the High School Chapter of my life and a Hello to the College Chapter.....

Hypocrisy Atrocity

I am a hypocrite...
1.a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, esp. a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
2.a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, esp. one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.
There is nothing wrong to admitting to your own hypocrisy, but it's not something to be proud of. Everyone makes mistakes, and hypocrisy is one of them. Hypocrisy passes your path in several ways from knowing you made hypocritical state, or maybe your unknowing of your own hypocrisy until someone makes you realize. I know being considered a hypocrite may suck but look outside the box...
EVERYONE IS A HYPOCRITE!
In one way or the other people make their hypocritical moves. For example, the Drug Abuse Resistance Eductation program how well did that workout? We promised the PIGS that we will never get into drugs, alcohol, gang activity, the whole shabangabang, now fast foward to the life of most DARE graduates in high school. Does it look like they've kept their promise? Now some people actually did follow this program, but that doesn't stop them from being a hypocrite in any way.
So if you still believe your not a hypocrite and just rant to others about being a hypocrite trying to put them down...... JUST STOP. This unnecessary ranting of yours may lead to........
BEEF.

Growing Up?

I find myself becoming older in a way, but should I say mature? The mature parts in my life so far are a college education, an internship for a non-profit organization, an ok-paying job with great coworkers, etc. But can mature also be in the categories of consuming copious amounts of beer or alcohol, filling lungs with flavored tobacco or herbal substances, having the couch as a new bed, hitting the snooze button countless amounts of times before actually waking up, useless time on the computer, filling the stomach with such amazing yet not so healthy food, I CAN'T EVEN KEEP UP TO DATE WITH THE ANSELMODE........ why do these certain deviances fill up my life so much that it may or already does interfere with the growth i'm trying to establish? This may be my wake up call, even though I will still see myself doing some of these deviant things. I won't say i'll end all my deviantness, but lets say ill try to cut down? Some progress may be my wanting of a bike for transportation and exploration, substitute most beverages with water, smaller meals, more work hours............ let's just HOPE.
